About Rodney Simpson
Rodney Simpson is an experienced entertainment industry professional with over 15 years of experience. He started his career in Alabama and moved to Atlanta, where he worked as an intern at JOI Studios before becoming the studio manager and eventually a seasoned A&R for 581 Muzik Group. While at 581 Muzik Group, he gained experience working with a variety of artists and judging showcases as a label rep. He was also involved in the production of the reality show "Keyshia Cole: The Way it is." After leaving 581 Muzik Group, Rodney worked at Purple Ribbon Entertainment and the Atlantis Music Conference before starting his own brand, Grassroots Marketing Media Consulting Group LLC. For over seven years, he toured colleges around the southeast with his F.A.M.E the Experience Tour, which brought professionals in the entertainment industry together to speak at different universities about surviving the entertainment industry. He also created the NO SLEEP TOUR, which showcases independent artists around the country and helps them build a quality core audience and fan base. In 2013, Rodney expanded his brand by creating F.A.M.E the magazine with two upcoming fashion designers, K.L Allen and William Floyd. The magazine features fashion, music, art, and education. His latest project is the FAME LIVE artist tour, which is being headlined by a hip hop star from the early nineties and a host of other independent artists looking to build their brands. He is also creating the education platform ROAD 2 FAME, which is a discussion with industry insiders about what it takes to succeed in the entertainment industry.
Rodney's goal with all of his ventures has always been to teach the younger generation about the entertainment industry from the inside and the people who work in it, including their ups and downs, not just the glamorous aspects.
